“I entered the construction industry in 1973. Throughout my career, which is going into the 47th year now, I’ve been able to experience all the stages of construction. I had a few great mentors that I honed my carpentry skills from. Skill ranging from framing, to master carpentry finish work. One of the best skills I learned was construction management. This skill rounded off my skill set to able to understand what goes when, what goes next, and how it should be done. I use these experiences as an advantage to myself and to my customers. I understand the entire job, even if I am not contracted for that purpose, and it helps to make Wakes Carpentry a very well rounded company. Later on in my career I started to get into general contracting and project management, which is one of our strong points still today. I’ve spent many years building custom homes, but saw the shift towards remodeling. Remodeling is where I have been for many years now, and to be honest, it’s my greatest pleasure transforming a dream into a reality, it’s very rewarding.”

“Being raised in a family of carpenters, it was natural for me to become one. Starting at the age 13, I’ve been spending the summers and some weekends working in the industry. This time gave me a appreciation for, not only hard work and dedication, but also the vast amount of talent and knowledge it takes to be all encompassing carpenter. When I finished school, I jumped head first into the industry full time. I started off working with a very large crew doing large exterior jobs and custom homes. Later on I began learning the art of kitchen and bathroom renovations which is still my strong suit, not to mention one of my favorite things to do to this day. Now, with 17 years of experience, I specialize in interior and exterior renovations for my customers. I have learned from so many great tradesmen that I’ve been honored to have worked beside. I am always pushing myself to hone my craft and talent for those who choose Wakes Carpentry.”
